Biography

I was born in Lewiston, Maine and raised in both the United States and Germany. From an early age working with family in the kitchen, my interest for food and cooking began. Being an "Army Brat", I lived in Germany for six years while I was young. Travels around Europe with my family included visits to many Michelin Star restaurants. The amazing times we had in Europe played a heavy hand in the development of my passion for food.

My introduction to the commercial kitchen began at age 15 and I quickly learned every position, from dishwasher, server, cook and management. After high school, I attended Boston University, and continued work part-time in restaurants during summers. Part-time became full time, and I soon found myself as Head Cook and Assistant manager.

In 1998, I decided to take a break from the kitchen to work in the Computer and Information Technology field and relocated to Boston, MA. During this time working for a large international company, I made many friends from all corners of the world. Learning preparation (and eating!) of many ethnic foods was one of my favorite pastimes.

After seven years in the IT field, in 2005, I left the busy corporate world to move back to Maine. While cooking for family and doing some catering, I finally realized my true calling and followed my heart back to the kitchen.

Having attended the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St.Helena, California, I am currently working at a fine dining Restaurant and Inn on the coast of Maine.
